First Impression

On entering the class I saw a man standing in the corner with arms crossed with no smile on his face and was just staring at the students as they entered the class. The impression that I had of Amitesh Sir was that he is a someone who is unfriendly and rude in nature because ones first reaction on seeing someone is to atleast to pass a smile if not say anything but he he did none of them. As they say first impression is the last impression and in my case it stands true as for me he is still the same kind of person who I saw at the first day and I can't change my views on him as I have made a mind set about him.

Castle Making

Castle making was a group activity where each group was suppose to have marshmallows  spaghetti, tape and strings. The objective of this activity was to make the tallest castle which should be strong and should stand on its own without falling. Limited time was given to do complete this task.
Our group started making the structure before planning on how to actually make it. At the end our castle did not stand on its own as we did not work as a team and didn't formulate a strong base before actually starting our work, we were in a hurry to complete the task.
This activity taught us that planning is the key to success because without that you will never be able to succeed. Also cooperation, coordination and patience is also required. Working as a team would make the work faster and easier. The base of the structure has to be always strong as a weak base would not let you rise high.

Needs and Wants; Given and Chosen Identity

This session of the workshop about needs and wants made me think how my needs are different from my wants. And I have always been confused of what I actually need and what i actually want. The need are all the basic necessities for my survival and my want is to buy  to a new macbook. This generation of people can't really differentiate between what they actually need and what they actually want which leads to a dilemma in their lives.
Needs are things that are required 24/7 and wants are things that gives me temporary happiness and satisfaction.

According to Maslow there is a hierarchy which shows that humans first fulfil their basic requirements, then their safety after which about their belongings and family, which leads to self esteem and self confidence and at the end self realisation which is the peak of their potential

There is huge difference between chosen and given identity. Chosen identity is what you actually want to be yourself and given identity is the identity given to us by society and that is something that can't be changed.
Our first given identity is given to us on the day of our birth which is our gender and our relations with each of our family members. Also our religion becomes a tag to us and we can't change it. These decisions mark us with a lot of responsibilities in life which need to be fulfilled.
The chosen identity is an identity which we inculcate in ourselves as we grow up and it is of our choice what we want to be identified as in our future. According to parents they want their children to be doctors or engineers but I  might want to be something every different like an make up artist. So it is our choice what we actually want to be and how we want our identity to be in society.

Three Questions

1. If you knew you would be dead at midnight what would you be doing at 11:45 ?
If I knew that i would die at midnight, I would love to spend time with my parents and tell them how much they mean to me and thank them for everything they have done for me in the past years that I have lived. I would not cry and would like to see the same smile on their that they had at the time of my birth.

2.If you didn't know how old you were , how old would you really be?
This question puts me into a state of confusion that if i dont know about my age then i would probably be 13-14 year old. The fact that i don't know about the ages and how does a person behaves in a particular age how can i define my age. Probably by seeing people around i can give this tag to myself. Age is just a number to which society has given some tags to it. While answering this question i feel that if i didn't know about my age i would not know about who behaves how in what age hence i will say i would be a young girl who has no age boundaries and can do whatever whenever. And would love to be of that age forever.

3.If you died and went to heaven's gate , what would you say to ,why should you be let inside heaven?
Standing at heavens gate itself defines that i have done good deeds in life. To answer the question i feel i have respected things , situations , people around me. I have listened to them and done things for them just to make them happy and not hurt them in anyway. I have made many mistakes in life but never let my ego come in-between to apologise. I have done all this not having the motive to go to heaven but just seeing people around me happy which gives me happiness.

Toy Making

The toy is named as Jhunjhuna. It is for children from 5 months- 1 year. The basic aim of this toy is to make noise for the bay which will distract the baby and it is light in weight,so the baby can hold it with ease.
I personally feel this activity was very creative as we had limited resources and had to be innovative with the limited items that we had.I learnt how one has to go to so much detailing in order to produce a new product for a particular age group.A lot of planning and team work was done . All the ideas were put together and the best one was chosen. It was an interesting and innovative way of making us learn something.
